It’s a nightmare scenario for any animal lover: having to take your beloved pet on a plane and then finding out they’ve been lost during transit.

That’s what happened to Alyssa Kopp and her mother Mary Gomes Kopp when their cat Rodri went missing on a flight in Europe on March 8.
