Questions mount as police minister dissolves KZN task team into political killings ahead of 2026 elections

Questions have arisen over what interventions Police Minister Senzo Mchunu will put in place to address political killings which are particularly rampant in KwaZulu-Natal ahead of the 2026 local government elections.This comes after the minister issued a directive last week for National Police Commissioner Lieutenant-General Fannie Masemola to disband the task team into political killings.
