The National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure (NATJOINTS) has called on the transport industry to resolve their taxi disputes amicably, as the nation prepares for elections.
This plea came as NATJOINTS briefed the media in Pretoria on Sunday about the readiness of South African law enforcement agencies for Wednesday’s elections.
Recent actions by taxi drivers in Port Shepstone and Durban have heightened concerns. Last week, taxi operators blocked sections of the N2 and N3 highways in KwaZulu-Natal, demanding the release of their impounded taxis.
