Over the weekend, the City of Cape Town’s Recreation and Parks Department after-hours tree emergency teams responded to 108 calls due to fallen trees from strong winds. This surpasses the total incidents handled during the winter of 2023.
The majority of calls originated from the City Bowl, southern suburbs, and the Helderberg Basin.
