STILFONTEIN, North West  – The rescue operation at the Stilfontein shaft in North West has kicked off.The first phase of the plan, to clear the site, has been completed.It’s expected to take a few more days before it moves underground to rescue miners.Local communities and concerned groups remain worried about the apparent sluggish pace of the operation as they fear for the well-being of the illegal miners.eNCA’s Bafedile Moerane has more details in the video above.
