Spaza shops registration deadline extended to February 2025

PRETORIA – Spaza shop owners have been handed a lifeline.Government has agreed to extend the registration deadline to February next year.This has been the response from authorities after the deaths of over 20 children from food-borne illnesses, blamed on eating snacks allegedly bought from spaza shops.More than 800 cases of food poisoning were reported across the country.eNCA senior reporter Silindelo Masikane has more details in the video above.
