JOHANNESBURG – “They tried to bring me down, but I’ll be back”.Some famous comeback words, this time from embattled former Joburg Mayor Kabelo Gwamanda. He insists he’s innocent of any wrongdoing. Gwamanda appeared briefly in the Protea Magistrate’s Court, to face fraud charges. He’s accused of swindling scores of Soweto residents through a funeral scheme allegedly run by his company, iThemba Lama Afrika. Gwamanda denies the charges. eNCA’s Manqoba Mchunu reports.
