Alleged hitmen killed in KZN police shootout

  JOHANNESBURG – Two alleged hitmen have been killed in a shootout with police in Mahlabathini, on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast.Police say the alleged hitmen were on their way to assassinate a taxi owner.Police had gathered intelligence about this plot.Having spotted the suspects’ vehicle on the P700 road in Mahlabathini, they used blue lights and sirens to instruct the driver to pull over.They stopped in the middle of the road and opened fire at the police.He and the other suspect were shot dead.Three firearms and ammunition were found in their possession.
