Western Cape teacher charged with four counts of rape to apply for bail

A Western Cape teacher, charged with multiple counts of rape, is expected to apply for bail. The matter will be heard in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, the National Prosecuting Authority said. Western Cape NPA spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila said the 26-year-old high school teacher faces four counts of rape and causing a child to witness a sexual act. Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg said the man was arrested on August 26 on allegations of rape. He made his first appearance in court on August 28.
