JOHANNESBURG – US President Joe Biden has declared 9 January as the official day of mourning and state funeral for former President Jimmy Carter.Carter died on Sunday at the age of 100 at his home in Plains in Georgia.He is remembered for advocating for global peace and human rights.In Africa, Carter is remembered for his contributions in ending minority rule in countries like Zimbabwe.
