Joburg council formalises appointment of Tshepo Makola as acting city manager

JOHANNESBURG – The Johannesburg municipal council has approved the ratification report formalising the appointment of Tshepo Makola as acting city manager. 
Makola, who is the metro’s chief operating officer, will act as city manager for the next three months.
During this time, the city will begin the process of recruiting a candidate to permanently serve in the position.
The city manager seat was left vacant after the Johannesburg High Court ruled that Floyd Brink’s appointment to the position in 2023 was unlawful.
