ANC Treasurer-General Gwen Ramokgopa calls on businesses to ‘fund democracy’

CAPE TOWN – African National Congress (ANC) Treasurer-General Dr Gwen Ramokgopa has called on businesses to fund democracy by donating to parties. 
Speaking at the ANC’s Progressive Business Forum golf fundraiser in Rondebosch, Cape Town on Thursday, Ramokgopa said businesses don’t fund political parties as much as they used to due to the economy.

But she said the party remains grateful that the event, where packages go for over R500,000 each, is also sold out.
