Free State bans sale of food in or near schools

BLOEMFONTEIN – The Free State has joined Gauteng in banning the sale of food and snacks inside and outside school premises.It comes after over 100 cases of food poisoning were reported at three schools.READ: Food safety | Free State struck by food poisoning casesOver 40 pupils from Ihobe Primary School in Mangaung were hospitalised on Thursday after allegedly consuming items bought from local spaza shops and vendors.The Education Department will also be working with other departments to identify the source of the poisoning.
