Illegal mining | Zama zamas continue emerging from Stilfontein shaft

JOHANNESBURG – More illegal miners continue to surface from an abandoned shaft in Klerksdorp in the North West.It follows a Vala Mgodi operation that stopped their supply of food.Almost 600 have already resurfaced and have been arrested.READ: North West police force at least 225 illegal miners to resurface in OrkneySeveral of them will appear in court on Monday morning.Police and soldiers are monitoring all exit points that extend to Orkney and Stilfontein.They believe some of the zama zamas have been underground for over a year.
