Ekurhuleni metro police chief Mapiyeye suspended

JOHANNESBURG – Ekurhuleni Metro police department chief Isaac Mapiyeye has been suspended.This after a female staff member lodged a case of sexual harassment and misconduct against him.The city manager’s office was tasked with appointing an independent investigator to probe misconduct allegations against the EMPD chief.Mapiyeye, who has been in the position since 2020, is also accused of a cover-up of an incident involving his deputy.
