The City of Tshwane is grappling with the aftermath of a devastating explosion outside the Mooikloof substation, located in the east of the capital.
The incident, which occurred late Wednesday night, resulted in a massive fire and extensive damage to critical infrastructure. This left thousands of residents without electricity for an extended period.
According to City of Tshwane, the explosion severely damaged one of the substation’s transformers and panels exacerbating the already precarious power situation in the affected areas.
